100 PAINTINGS OF THE SEA
100 paintings of the sea started with a recognition that I was finding it hard to go out and, like many was struggling with doing normal stuff.
I wanted to do a project that was about being outside, to have a structure that brought good things ... being outside, looking at the sea, tuning in to colours and changes of light and painting from life as I had when at art school.
I didn't find it easy to do the project but the work itself and the responses to it gave back so much that it motivated me to keep going and restart even when things felt difficult. I love looking back over these, remembering how hard it was to start, to paint in public...to focus and still myself, to paint the ever changing water...how much I learned and all the precious moments it gave me over that time.
