CATCH OF THE DAY
Each day, I made a page for a book celebrating Scotland’s fishing industry. Each small page relates to one of the Scottish ports that register fishing boats.
The images show the letters used to register the boats, the map coordinates of the post, the Shipping Forecast sea area names and the phrases used to describe the state of the sea in the Forecast. Eight of the pages depict the signal flags used to send messages to their boats. These coded letters of the alphabet spell out “Scotland”.
The pages were bound into four “Flag” books, one for each point of the compass. The books are called “Catch of the Day” and feature embossed fishes on the front cover.
